What Treatment Does What?
Botox - An injection of a prescribed FDA approved medication that temporarily relaxes the muscles responsible for excessive frown lines and crow’s feet lines. Results on average last 3-4 months.
Temporary Tissue Fillers - (ex. Restylane, Juvederm, Teosyal) - A natural tissue filler injected to temporarily smooth out the lines particularly around the nose, mouth, cheeks, eyes and forehead. Results on average last 6-12 months.
Permanent Tissue Fillers - (ex. Artesense) - For some patients particularly those with deep acne scars or depressed scars related to surgery or trauma, we use a permanent filler called Artesense.
Intense Pulse Light (IPL) - Laser like treatment reducing redness associated with rosacea, broken blood vessels and brown age spots. The treatment dramatically reduces the brown/age spots on the face, chest, arms, legs and hands. Improvement noted in the texture of the skin with a decrease in pore size. Designed as a treatment regime of 3-5 sessions performed once every 3 weeks.
ProFractional - The Dermatology Rejuvenation Centre is the only facility in Atlantic Canada to provide the latest most up to date laser skin resurfacing technology for improving facial wrinkling, acne scars and other scars related to trauma/ injury or previous medical conditions ( ie chicken pox). Designed as a treatment regime of 3-5 sessions performed once monthly.
Hair Removal - More advanced than even lasers, IPL is the first photoepilation technology proven to treat unwanted hair safely on many skin types. Best results are achieved on the individual with dark hair and light skin. Permanent hair reduction is defined as long-term stable reduction in the number of hairs regrowing after a treatment regimen - not the total and complete elimination of every single hair.
Sclerotherapy – Injection of a prescribed solution into spider veins on the legs to bring about gradual improvement. Multiple treatment sessions performed every 2-3 weeks as required.
