Another season, another fall and the endless change of weather and time is once again upon us. We had no newsletter for the summer as it was too nice in August to bother you with reading yet one more thing. Here are some of our updates for our clinic:
NEW! Grow longer, fuller, darker lashes with Latisse.
Latisse for thicker eyelashes: Currently Latisse is not legally available in Canada. Upon approval by Heath Canada, Allergan (the makers of Botox) hope to launch the product into the Canadian marketplace by late 2009 or early 2010. This will be a physician dispensed product.
Latisse is the first and only FDA approved prescription treatment for inadequate or not enough eyelashes. Some salons in the city are marketing an over the counter, non-prescription treatment. It is unclear what the active ingredient is in this product.
Latisse contains an active ingredient used in the treatment for glaucoma and it was noted that a desirable side effect of the treatment was eyelash growth. Patients have often had to have an esthetician trim their eyelashes. The product may cause some dark pigmentation to form on the skin.

There will always be someone in the office during the daytime if you need to pick up any Pro-Derm products or be measured for your support stockings. Please phone beforehand to book an appointment especially if you need to be measured for stockings. If you wish to have your products mailed simply phone Patsy or Debbie and they will arrange your purchase and delivery by either mail or courier. All IPL, Sclerotherapy and Pro-fractional treatments are done on Wednesdays and Fridays by either Joanne or Bonnie. Call us at 425-2956 to book an appointment.
