Renovations underway for move of office next Spring!!

Renovation - 1608 Coburg RdAs can be seen from the photograph, we are currently in the process of renovating my medical office such that by next spring we will be able to move the Dermatology Rejuvenation Centre into my Coburg office which is just across the street from the Coburg Coffee House. After practicising there for 30 years, I have decided to take over the entire building for my own medical and cosmetic practice. This is a very exciting time for us as we are finally able to make renovation changes on a great building that is in need of tender loving care.

Currently the carpenters are doing the exterior renovations (all new windows and shingles plus a new color) and will be moving indoors in the next few months to renovate the interior. This will afford us more space and the ability to better plan our future as the Quinpool office is eventually slated for demolition and condo development. We will keep you up to date in future newsletters of progress and all patients will be notified when we are ready for the move. You will be happy to know that the new office will have 10 parking spaces in back such that parking should not be a problem with our new locale. There is also a back exit for easy and discrete access to your car.

I will be continuing to do my medical practice on specific days at this site as well as my cosmetic practice in the new facility. We will keep you posted in future newsletters on its renovations. The new facility will offer us more time to take care of our cosmetic clientele and greatly simply my professional life.

Hyperpigmentation Problems of the Face:

LumixylCertainly one of the most challenging issues that we face as dermatologists is the treatment of hyperpigmentation of the face. Topical agents are only so effective although we are currently using a new topical formulation (Lumixyl) which in early clinical trials have shown it to be more effective than currently available products.

In November Dr. Miller will be attending the CLASS (Canadian Laser Aesthetics Specialty Society – of which he is the current President) and one of the guest lecturers will be addressing his approach to Melasma and hyperpigmentation problems with the use of creams and Lasers. We will keep you posted as to what the current treatments are.

Vascular Laser Update:

We have been using the new vascular laser since early April and have been thrilled with the results we are achieving with both Port Wine Stains as well as Venous Lakes and other broken blood vessels on the face.

Although IPL (Intense Pulse Light) had been my main treatment for this condition, I am treating many of my patients now with either vascular laser by itself or using a combination of both. For the small veins around the nose as well as elsewhere on the face, the vascular laser is almost like a magic eraser pencil to remove them immediately. They may however have a tendency to gradually recur over a few weeks and therefore repeat treatments are necessary.

See the video Dr. Miller did explaining this new technology as well as the recent presentation on the Rachel Ray Show.

Erbium Laser Resurfacing:

This recent article appeared in the Globe and Mail a few weeks ago. We have been doing this procedure for the last year and half and have been achieving great results in the majority of our patients. View Article
