Latisse Update

LaserSince the release of Latisse on the Canadian aesthetics market, we have seen an enormous increase in the sale of this product. Once nightly applications have resulted in almost all clients seeing an increase in the length, darkness and thickness of their eyelashes frequently by 4-6 weeks and in virtually everyone by week 10. We have seen no side effects. Many notice extra drops in their dispensing bottles at the end of each month so we simply advice that they continue to use it as one assumes the company has added extra drops to account for any wastage or spillage. If you are coming to the end of your brushes, simply start using one brush for both eyelashes. Clients who started using the product in November should now be almost down to 2 applications per week which means the product should now last 3 months on average if not longer, to maintain the eyelash growth. NEW Laser coming!

LaserOne of the most challenging aspects of treating the face is the eradication of wrinkles. Certainly, Botox and Tissue fillers such as Restylane and Juvederm can achieve a lot but the results for the deep lines around the mouth is always problematic and although tissue fillers can give some volume the lines are still prominent.

In the next few months we will be introducing a new laser into the practice which will smooth out these lines. This will be a resurfacing Erbium laser which can be programmed to different depths and can be used to remove varying depths of skin in order to "plane down" the lines. Essentially it is necessary to get to the deeper skin layers in order to eliminate the etched lines around the mouth. Stay tuned for more information on this new laser in our spring newsletter.
